Sherry Russell – Executive Director 

Since 2008, Sherry Russell has been the executive director of the Downtown Education Collaborative. Sherry has over 25 years of experience in education and is dedicated to creating meaningful, transformative educational opportunities.  She is passionate about community-based and experiential education and her commitment and passion have directed her professional life and academic pursuits.  She holds a doctorate from the Center for International Education at the University of Massachusetts where she focused on non-formal adult education and participatory learning and research.  As an educator, she has worked both domestically and abroad managing and developing projects, directing programs and as a teacher and trainer.
