Blood Pressure Clinic: Another Successful Service-Learning Project
A free blood pressure offered to community members at the Downtown Education Collaborativeon Lisbon Street. This was a collaborative project of the faculty and medical assisting students of both Andover College and Central Maine Community College. During the two and a half hour clinic, students checked blood pressure, answered questions about blood pressure in general, and were able to troubleshoot problems with home blood pressure machines. The clinic was publicized in advance and was well attended. The students were from Nina Huntington’s clinical skills class from Andover College and Carmin Iadonisi’s s nursing class from CMCC.
